Wolf Cub – Chapter 80 [Extra 4] Work: Spring

1.

On the Sichuan-Tibet line, in the Nyingchi Prefecture, the altitude was three thousand meters. In early spring, the wind on the mountain cliffs blew straight into people’s cotton-padded jacket sleeves. The grass was short and pale, still covered with a thin layer of snow from the morning snowfall.

On the flat ground, Lin Shiyu was wearing a black trench coat over a costume for the photoshoot, holding his phone and losing his temper. “You were just giving a speech, why did you add those girls on WeChat? Are you going to add a bunch of junior girls every time you go back to that school? If so, you might as well delete me to make room!

“If you don’t chat with them, why add them? Just to browse their Moments and look at photos? Junior girls are all that pretty, huh?

“Zhong Qi, don’t change the subject!” Lin Shiyu was fuming, and the staff nearby cautiously watched him while holding their equipment. “I’ve tolerated you for a long time! Last time, some client kept sending you flowers for over half a year without repeating the same flowers once. If you had directly rejected her, would there still be rumors in your company about the two of you being a couple?

“My circle is messy? What does it matter how many gays there are in this industry? Don’t drag me into it. I never exchange contact information with random people!

“Xiao Meng? What Xiao Meng? I don’t even recognize—ah choo!

“Why do you care if I catch a cold…

“You don’t like my temper? Then go find your gentle, cute junior girls!”

He furiously hung up the phone, and Ah Xin immediately came over with a cup of hot coffee. “Brother Shiyu, calm down, it’s cold. Have some hot coffee.”

Lin Shiyu stubbornly stood by the car, sulking. A young female staff member cautiously approached him. “Brother Shiyu, can we start shooting?”

Lin Shiyu stood for a while, then took off his trench coat, placed it on the car, took the coffee from Ah Xin, and took a sip. He whispered, “Thank you.”

After saying that, he followed the young woman. Only then did Ah Xin breathe a sigh of relief. He glanced to make sure Lin Shiyu had walked away and then ran into the car to escape the wind, dialing a number on his phone.

“Hello, Brother Qi.”

A deep, magnetic voice answered. “Has he gone to shoot?”

“Yeah, he went to shoot after drinking some hot coffee.”

“He sounded hoarse. Is he sick?”

“Maybe he got windblown. He was standing in the wind arguing with you earlier. The wind was really strong.” Ah Xin said helplessly, “The altitude is high, and the temperature is low here. Plus, the weather has been bad these days, and the schedule got delayed. Brother Yu wanted to hurry back–”

“It’s okay. Ah Xin, he’s a bit childish. Please take good care of him.”

“Oh, Brother Shiyu takes care of me too. He always shares his food with me.” Ah Xin patted his round belly and chuckled. “Don’t worry, Brother Qi. I’ll definitely look out for Brother Yu.”

Ah Xin hung up the phone, grabbed the coat Lin Shiyu had left on the car, and dashed out.

2.

When Lin Shiyu was in college, a senior from the art troupe pulled him into modeling. Eventually, the small studio grew, and its staff increased. Many big companies formed long-term partnerships with them, and some even tried to recruit Lin Shiyu as a full-time model. However, Lin Shiyu found that there were too many scammers and agents outside. He preferred working with his familiar senior, who paid well, though it kept him busy.

The studio, still in its startup phase, consistently produced high-quality work. The senior didn’t want Lin Shiyu to be limited to fashion shoots. Sometimes, he arranged for him to do location shoots or high-end magazine spreads. Lin Shiyu had to do both indoor and outdoor shoots and sometimes traveled all over the country, going a month without returning home.

This time, he was on the Sichuan-Tibet line for a tourism magazine collaboration, producing a photo book of scenic spots along the route, with one male and one female model. Lin Shiyu was one of them. Originally, the shoot was supposed to be completed in a week, but due to the snowy weather, it got delayed by three days.

Everyone could tell that Brother Shiyu was in a bad mood. Besides comforting him, there wasn’t much they could do. As the boss said, the weather was too cooperative. No matter what, the photos looked good, and the output quality was too high. Luckily, Ah Xin, the chubby assistant, was there, cheerfully chatting with Lin Shiyu to keep him happy.

Ah Xin was hired by Zhong Qi to be Lin Shiyu’s assistant. Lin Shiyu initially resisted, thinking that only celebrities had assistants and that he didn’t need one just for modeling. But Zhong Qi insisted that he tended to neglect himself when he was busy, forgetting to eat and not dressing warmly, and he didn’t recognize directions well. Zhong Qi said that if no one watched over him, he might get lost one day.

How could he not take care of himself? Lin Shiyu thought indignantly. He took good care of his younger sister, after all.

3.

“Brother Shiyu, it’s time to eat.” Ah Xin came in with two boxed meals. Only then did Lin Shiyu snap out of it, realizing he had forgotten it was mealtime and that he was very hungry.

The boxed meal contained all of Lin Shiyu’s favorite dishes. He took the chopsticks and started eating hungrily. After a while, he paused and hesitantly asked, “Who is Xiao Meng?”

Ah Xin, already used to Lin Shiyu’s delayed reactions, naturally answered, “He’s the model who came to the studio last month. He’s gay and kept trying to talk to you during meals.”

Lin Shiyu was bewildered as he didn’t even know the person’s name. “How did Zhong Qi know him?”

“Brother, the guy likes you and wants to pursue you,” Ah Xin said helplessly. “You didn’t even acknowledge him, so I told him you had a boyfriend. Somehow, he got Zhong Qi’s phone number and called him.”

Lin Shiyu was immediately furious. “He called Zhong Qi? Why didn’t I know?”

“You were busy at the time! Besides, it wasn’t a big deal. Zhong Qi blocked him and didn’t bother with him.”

Lin Shiyu calmed down, silently eating his meal. Ah Xin, eating beside him, continued chatting, “Brother, don’t be upset. We can’t do anything about the delay. You’ve already prepared the gift, just tell Zhong Qi. He’ll understand.”

Lin Shiyu mumbled in response, listlessly poking at his food.

Tomorrow was Zhong Qi’s birthday. Lin Shiyu had planned to finish the shoot and return to celebrate, but now he couldn’t even go back, and they had a fight earlier. It couldn’t get worse.

Lin Shiyu hadn’t intended to lose his temper the day before Zhong Qi’s birthday, but he couldn’t help it. Many people openly or secretly pursued Zhong Qi, and some even managed to add him on WeChat, talking nonsense, which made Lin Shiyu so angry that he blocked and deleted them. Although Zhong Qi warned them later, this time, Zhong Qi was invited back to his alma mater for a speech and ended up exchanging contacts with many junior students, most of whom weren’t straight. Lin Shiyu was so jealous he couldn’t hold back his anger and called to argue.

The result was that after returning to the hotel, he sulked in a corner of the bed in a self-imposed isolation mode.

After packing up the lunch boxes, Ah Xin organized his luggage and poked him. “Brother, are you feeling alright? You had a slight fever a few days ago.”

Lin Shiyu answered gloomily, “No.”

“Then, Brother, you should take a shower and rest early.”

Lin Shiyu dragged himself up, grabbed his pajamas, and slowly went to the bathroom to shower. As soon as the water started running, Ah Xin quickly and sneakily went to the bedside table, took a bag from his pocket, and stuffed it into the drawer before closing it. He ran to the door and shouted, “Brother, I’m heading back to my room. Sleep early.”

A muffled response came from the bathroom, and Ah Xin left, closing the door with a grin.

4.

After taking a hot shower, Lin Shiyu felt much better and less tired. He got into bed and stared out at the dark blue sky. The distant snow-capped mountains stretched out, the sky deep and pure blue. The high-altitude air was thin, and Lin Shiyu had suffered from altitude sickness when he first arrived, but it had gotten better after a few days, though his chest still felt occasionally tight.

There were few people in this part of the Sichuan-Tibet region, and it was cold. The car sped along the highway, past endless grasslands, colorful prayer flags fluttering on the mountainsides, all cold and quiet.

The highland environment easily made people feel lonely, at least for Lin Shiyu. He didn’t like being separated from Zhong Qi for too long. Since Zhong Qi graduated from university and returned to work in his home province, they moved in together, renting an apartment and resuming their high school routine of being together every day.

So Lin Shiyu always disliked business trips.

He tossed and turned, clutching his phone, opening and closing the chat window with Zhong Qi several times, not knowing how to start a conversation. He wanted to speak but held back, feeling unwilling if he didn’t.

Lin Shiyu sat up, grabbed a pillow, and threw it at his phone. “Why do you have to flirt with others?!”

After throwing it, he angrily burrowed under the blanket. Before long, he fell asleep while lying on the bed.

Who knows how long he slept before being awakened by knocking at the door. Ah Xin was calling “Brother Yu” from outside. Lin Shiyu, feeling groggy, got up to open the door. Ah Xin came in with a bunch of supplies, saying they were new and would be convenient for him to use. Lin Shiyu muttered an acknowledgement and, still sleepy, crawled back into bed.

Ah Xin busied himself for a while, then said goodbye, and Lin Shiyu gave a muffled response, burying his head in the pillow.

Footsteps approached, and the mattress sank. Lin Shiyu mumbled, “Ah Xin, what now…”

A soft touch wrapped around his waist. Lin Shiyu instantly woke up, turning around to find himself enveloped in a familiar, cool scent, warm and comforting.

“Lin Shiyu, you really have no sense of caution.”

Zhong Qi’s deep, pleasant voice accompanied a kiss that sent a tingle through Lin Shiyu’s body. Lin Shiyu still thought he was dreaming until he was kissed breathlessly, and his pants were pulled down. He finally woke up completely, pushing Zhong Qi away like he had seen a ghost. “What are you doing here?”

Zhong Qi was still dressed in a woolen coat over a gray turtleneck and black pants, carrying the coolness of his journey. He smiled, making Lin Shiyu lose his train of thought.

“You didn’t come back, so I had to come find you.”

Zhong Qi threw his pants aside and reached into the bedside drawer for lubricant. Lin Shiyu was bewildered. “How did that get in my drawer? Wait, wait…”

Zhong Qi squeezed out a large amount of the lubricant, and the coldness made Lin Shiyu shiver. Immediately, fingers coated with the liquid forcefully entered him. Lin Shiyu instinctively struggled, but Zhong Qi gripped his waist, pinning him to the bed, making him cry out.

Zhong Qi leaned down, biting his ear and speaking in a slightly hoarse voice, “I don’t want to use a condom, I’ll come inside.”

“Ah…!”

The fingers pressed into the tight space, producing a squelching sound. Lin Shiyu gasped for breath, clutching the sheets. It still felt like a dream to him, as if the person in his mind had suddenly stepped into reality. Yet Zhong Qi’s actions were so domineering and almost brutal, the intense foreign sensation invading his body, stretching him without giving him a moment to breathe.

Lin Shiyu realized that Zhong Qi had really come over in person and was most likely—not in a good mood.

“Slow, slow down…” Lin Shiyu, confused, tried to grab Zhong Qi’s wrist. It had been a long time since he had done this, and he couldn’t handle the sudden intrusion. Even so, Zhong Qi pushed in forcefully, making Lin Shiyu groan and tremble, almost bringing tears to his eyes.

Zhong Qi pulled him closer to face him, spreading his legs and leaning down, his voice low and slightly cold, “Undo the belt.”

With red-rimmed eyes, Lin Shiyu took a moment to realize Zhong Qi meant his own belt. Swallowing hard, he asked, “Why are you–?”

“Undo it.”

Lin Shiyu hesitated, looking into Zhong Qi’s eyes, which were dark and slightly cold like a wolf’s. He pursed his lips and reached to undo the belt. The buckle made a light sound as it came off and fell onto the bed. Blushing, Lin Shiyu awkwardly unbuttoned and unzipped his pants.

Zhong Qi removed his coat, grabbed Lin Shiyu’s wrists, and pinned them above his head. Feeling a sense of danger, Lin Shiyu curled his legs to push Zhong Qi away, but Zhong Qi didn’t give him the chance to act spoiled. He pressed Lin Shiyu’s knee down and entered him roughly.

“It hurts—ah!” Lin Shiyu’s whole body tensed from the pain. The hard intrusion reached deep inside, and Zhong Qi began thrusting forcefully. Lin Shiyu’s back arched off the bed, his slender white waist trembling in Zhong Qi’s grip, unable to make a sound.

The room filled with wet sounds. Zhong Qi held Lin Shiyu’s wrists, thrusting in and out, spilling liquid on the bed. Without removing his clothes, Lin Shiyu was left in a disheveled white shirt, exposing his flushed chest and neck. He shivered, whimpering, crying out Zhong Qi’s name, his legs soon weakly dangling from Zhong Qi’s waist.

“What did you say to me on the phone earlier?” Zhong Qi pushed into the wet cleft, listening to the fragile moans. “You told me to find someone else?”

“No… don’t…”

“What did I explain to you?” Zhong Qi continued to ask, his movements relentless. “Did you listen?”

Lin Shiyu answered softly, “I listened, mm! I listened…”

“And you still argued with me?”

“Ah… ah! Don’t… too hard…” Lin Shiyu could barely take it, almost crying out. “Gently!”

The rough shaft pushed into his deepest sensitive spot. Lin Shiyu couldn’t help but moan, his lower body twitching as he came, his chest and abdomen covered in sticky fluid.

Zhong Qi finally paused. Lin Shiyu clutched a pillow, panting, his voice tinged with a sob.

Zhong Qi undressed and climbed into bed, holding Lin Shiyu from behind. Lin Shiyu refused to turn around, slightly sulking.

Zhong Qi licked his ear, soothing him by stroking his trembling waist, his voice lazy. “You got jealous, and I had to fly over from Wuhan to comfort you.”

Lin Shiyu was annoyed. “You call this comforting?”

“What else?” Zhong Qi pressed against him from behind, his large hand gripping his wet, slippery front, squeezing slightly. “You’re so lewd.”

The hard shaft pressed against his back entrance again, ready to enter. Lin Shiyu quickly pushed against Zhong Qi’s waist. “Don’t… I can’t breathe.”

“What’s wrong, altitude sickness?”

“…A little.”

Lin Shiyu felt a bit embarrassed, but Zhong Qi lifted him onto his lap, smiling suggestively. “Alright, then move slowly by yourself.”

“!”

Zhong Qi patted his leg. “Move.”

Lin Shiyu, blushing deeply, sat on top of him, feeling the hardness inside and stiffening. After a moment, he gritted his teeth, braced against Zhong Qi’s abdomen, and tried to move, taking deep breaths.

His ankles, pressed into the sheets, were taut, with his bones protruding. Sweat appeared on Lin Shiyu’s back, making his pale, thin skin glow slightly. He endured the invasive feeling, barely managing to lower himself, biting his lips until they were wet and red, with sweat trickling down his temples.

Zhong Qi suddenly thrust upward, causing Lin Shiyu to gasp and try to lift his knees to alleviate the deep stimulation. However, Zhong Qi held his legs firmly and said hoarsely, “Keep going.”

Lin Shiyu, with watery eyes, glared at him and moved his hips begrudgingly. The room filled with the sounds of their movements and suppressed gasps. Sweat dripped from his heated skin, sliding down his chest and abdomen. Lin Shiyu’s neck looked delicate and fragile, the curve inviting temptation for a bite.

His voice trembled uncontrollably, occasionally choking from the deep intrusion. The erect, damp nipples and his aroused state revealed how his seemingly inexperienced body had learned to derive pleasure from his lover’s touch. His skin responded with a deep-seated desire from his very core.

This trembling sensation could only be brought about by one person.

The clock passed twelve, the night was as deep as the ocean, and countless stars twinkled above the mountain range like a dream.

Zhong Qi entwined his fingers with Lin Shiyu’s and said, “You should wish me a happy birthday now.”

Lin Shiyu, weakened, sat on him, looking at him with a hint of annoyance.

Zhong Qi laughed, then lifted him to take a bath. In the bathroom, the hot water cascaded down as Lin Shiyu stood under the shower, holding onto the door handle. Zhong Qi skillfully lathered the soap on him. Seeing Lin Shiyu lost in thought, he flicked some foam onto his face. “What are you daydreaming about?”

Lin Shiyu shook his head, and Zhong Qi wrapped an arm around his waist to clean him thoroughly. Lin Shiyu clung to his arm, barely standing, resting his face against Zhong Qi’s solid shoulder, and softly asked, “Are you going back tomorrow?”

“No, I’ll stay with you.”

His expression immediately changed, and Zhong Qi glanced at him, teasing, “So childish.”

Lin Shiyu quickly straightened his pouting lips but soon couldn’t help but grab him and ask, “What about the company’s… um… work?”

“I took leave.” Zhong Qi withdrew his fingers. “If I didn’t, my wife might delete me from her friends list. What else could I do?”

Lin Shiyu’s mood visibly improved, but then he awkwardly asked, “Did you chat with the female junior students?”

Zhong Qi looked at him expressionlessly and raised the shower head towards his face. Lin Shiyu quickly dodged, spitting out water that got into his mouth. “What are you doing!”

“I only added junior students from the same mentor. The professor asked me to help them with their papers when I had time, so I chatted with them. I even sent you the chat logs, didn’t I? Didn’t you read them?”

Lin Shiyu had no response, standing awkwardly under the water. Zhong Qi pulled him over, dried him off, and tossed him onto the bed.

“I’ve spoiled you too much.” Zhong Qi pinched Lin Shiyu’s cheek, “You get jealous over everything.”

Lin Shiyu’s face turned red from the pinch. He hugged Zhong Qi’s waist and burrowed into the covers, staying silent for a while before peeking out. “Happy birthday.”

“And?”

“I have a gift for you.” Lin Shiyu got out of bed, retrieved something from his bag, and returned to bed, showing it to Zhong Qi.

It was a small cloth bag with a protective charm inside.

“Two days ago, I visited Jokhang Temple and prayed. I met an old monk and asked for this.” Lin Shiyu placed the charm back in the bag. “I heard it’s very effective with keeping you healthy and safe.”

He tied the bag and placed it on Zhong Qi’s chest, patting it while muttering a few words. Zhong Qi covered his hand. “Is this all you prayed for?”

“What do you mean ‘is this all’? It’s very important.”

Zhong Qi teased him, “Why didn’t you pray for us to be happy together forever?”

Lin Shiyu had no response and lay back down. Zhong Qi turned over and hugged him, holding the bag tightly. Lin Shiyu inhaled his familiar scent and nestled into his neck, whispering, “If I ask for too much, what if the heavens think I’m greedy and give me nothing?”

Zhong Qi couldn’t help but laugh. He kissed Lin Shiyu’s nose and eyes, saying, “The old man will grant your wishes because you’re adorable.”

5.
The next day, they arrived at their final shoot location, Yamdrok Lake. Lin Shiyu and the photography team went to the lakeside for pictures, while Zhong Qi, still in his coat, leaned against the car, yawning and watching. Everyone in the studio knew him and greeted him as they passed.

Just then, Zhong Qi’s phone rang with a group video call. He answered it.

“Happy birthday, Brother Qi!” Gao Jie’s familiar loud voice came through, his round face filling the screen with just his eyes visible.

Ruan Zhikai said, “Gao, move your face. You’re squishing me.”

Mao Silu exclaimed, “Happy birthday, Zhong Qi! Wow, where are you? The sky looks so blue behind you.”

Shen Ziyi asked, “Did you go out to play with Brother Shiyu again? You two are really inseparable.”

Zhong Qi, holding his phone and watching the group argue, slowly fixed his hair in front of the camera. “I’m in Lhasa. Lin Shiyu is here for work, and I’m here for fun.”

Ruan Zhikai, with an exaggerated expression of goosebumps, said, “You two are at the point where you even stick together for work? Scary.”

Shen Ziyi demanded to see her Brother Shiyu. Zhong Qi casually turned the camera toward the group of people by the lake, then turned it back. “There, you saw him.”

“I didn’t see anything! Can’t you get closer? You’re so stingy!”

“Comrade Shen Ziyi, as a police officer, you should have a better attitude towards the public.”

“What public? You nasty capitalist–”

Shen Ziyi continued to argue loudly. Mao Silu interrupted, “Zhong Qi, when you two get back, let’s gather in Wuhan. Gao Jie is coming back in a few days too. We can invite Old Li for a meal.”

Gao Jie said, “I’m finally returning to my hometown. You guys must treat me to a good meal.”

They chatted for a while longer, arranging to meet up when they got back, and Zhong Qi ended the call. Exhausted from the recent work and travel to Tibet, he turned into the car, found it empty, sprawled across the entire back seat, and fell asleep.

He didn’t know how long he slept before a bit of light fell on his face, waking him. He found a thin blanket covering him and Lin Shiyu nestled in his arms, fast asleep.

It was nearing dusk. The sky was dimming, with the sun setting in a fiery red over the edge of Yamdrok Lake. The vast clouds appeared like they were on fire, flowing and winding. The lake lay like a giant emerald among the green mountains, occasionally disturbed by fleeting white birds.

Legend has it that the white birds over Yamdrok Lake are transformed celestial maidens. Another legend says the lake itself is a transformed celestial maiden, a green drop in the vast mountain meadows. The thousands of fish in the lake are divine gifts to mortals.

Ah Xin jogged over from a distance, leaned against the car window, and whispered, “Brother Shiyu needs to take pictures.”

Zhong Qi nodded, and Ah Xin left. Zhong Qi gently woke Lin Shiyu, who sleepily opened his eyes.

He patted Lin Shiyu’s tousled hair, “Time to work, Fairy.”

Lin Shiyu, sitting up dazedly, had a red mark on his face from sleeping. Zhong Qi, amused, watched him. After a moment, Lin Shiyu tried to lean back on his shoulder, but Zhong Qi lifted him. “Stop being so clingy.”

Irritated from being woken up, Lin Shiyu got off and went to work.

6.

Two days later, the shoot was finally complete, and the group could head home. They were all tired of the subtle affection between the two, which, despite not being overt, was evident in Lin Shiyu’s constant attention to Zhong Qi.

On their last night, they stayed at a guesthouse by the grasslands. Everyone gathered downstairs for barbecue and beer. Lin Shiyu ate lamb ribs while reviewing the shots with the photographer. Zhong Qi joined in drinking but left the table to take a phone call.

As he walked away, his tall figure stood out, his black short hair glinting in the lamplight. At a nearby table, a photography assistant watched him leave and sighed, whispering to her friend, “Brother Qi is really handsome.”

Her friend replied, “Don’t get any ideas about someone else’s boyfriend.”

“I wouldn’t dare,” said the assistant. “Someone once asked me about Zhong Qi, but when they found out he had a boyfriend, they looked at Brother Shiyu’s photo and ran off.”

They laughed and discussed Zhong Qi’s looks, education, and job, marveling at the unfairness of life. They rarely saw Zhong Qi, considering him almost otherworldly, while Lin Shiyu, whom they saw daily, was like a child to them, their biggest interest being to feed and comfort him.

Lin Shiyu, halfway through his meal, noticed Zhong Qi was missing. After looking around, he found him sitting alone on a stone bench by a water channel behind the guesthouse. A small water wheel stood motionless beside him, and only a small path of light illuminated the scene.

Lin Shiyu sat next to him. “What are you doing here?”

Zhong Qi, idly playing with his phone, replied, “Fishing.”

The fish, now caught, stared at him. Zhong Qi smiled, pulled him close, ruffled his hair, and leaned in to touch his forehead. “I have a secret to tell you.”

“What?”

Zhong Qi said mysteriously, “I have enough money in my bank account.”

Lin Shiyu: “?”

Zhong Qi took out his phone, opened a few tabs, and showed Lin Shiyu. “I’ve looked at a few apartments. The locations and layouts are good. See if you like any, and we can go look at them together.”

Lin Shiyu stared at his phone in a daze, looking at it again and again, then turned to Zhong Qi with a look of disbelief. “Are we buying a house?”

“Yes.”

Lin Shiyu opened each image, looking utterly bewildered. “Aren’t these too big?”

“Bring your mother and sister over to live with us. More rooms would be just right. We’ll cover the down payment together and then pay off the mortgage slowly,” Zhong Qi said calmly, as if he had decided this a long time ago. Lin Shiyu remained stunned for a long time, struggling to process reality.

“Well… we can look at it together when the time comes,” Lin Shiyu said, holding his phone, his palm sweating without him realizing. “It’s better if it’s closer to your company, so it’s more convenient for work. I can also check out the house and furniture, and send you pictures…”

He was somewhat incoherent. Zhong Qi watched him for a moment, then lifted his chin and leaned down to kiss him. In the sparse lights among the unfamiliar, cold mountains, with distant noise fading away, they sat under the boundless starry sky, their figures shimmering together like stars in a tranquil, distant dance.

Zhong Qi pulled back slightly, smiling softly. “Once you live in my home, you’ll be mine for a lifetime.”

Lin Shiyu tightened his grip on Zhong Qi’s fingers, looking at him with bright eyes. “It will also be my home.”

“Alright,” Zhong Qi replied. “Then I’ll be yours for a lifetime too.”

Lin Shiyu reached up, pulling Zhong Qi’s neck closer for a kiss. Zhong Qi made a sound of surprise and pulled him away. “Why are you still biting?”

Lin Shiyu clung to him, showing his tiger teeth. “Just leaving my mark.”

“Leaving your mark… Ouch.”

Zhong Qi let him play around and eventually couldn’t help but laugh. He turned his head and kissed the corner of Lin Shiyu’s mouth, speaking softly as he held him. They were close, hands naturally entwined, their shadows reflected in the clear water channel, gently swaying.

The night breeze was cold, passing over the green grasslands dotted with countless warm lights like stars in the dark night.

They were about to descend the mountain and return home, while spring had already arrived below.
